You Wouldn't Like To See Him When He's Angry

Buerkle angers Norquist with budget vote.

Monday, April 2, 2012 | 12:57 p.m.
Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle (R) "upset" Americans for Tax Reform pres. Grover Norquist on March 29 when she was one of only only 38 House members to vote for a budget amendment "that mirrored the bipartisan recommendations" of the Simpson-Bowles Debt Commission. Buerkle "was among 16" GOPers to back the measure.
Norquist "immediately blasted those who voted for the amendment." Buerkle is among 238 House members who have signed Norquist’s “Taxpayer Protection Pledge” against passing any new taxes in Congress.
Buerkle said "that she voted for the bipartisan proposal because it has the deep spending cuts and debt reduction plans that she views as the best solution to the nation's debt problems" (Weiner, Syracuse Post-Standard, 3/30).
