Neumann raises $650K:
Former Rep. Mark Neumann will report raising $650,000 during the first quarter of the election year for his Wisconsin Senate bid, his campaign tells POLITICO.
That's his best quarter since entering the race as he tries to continue to keep pace with former Gov. Tommy Thompson in the GOP primary.
“Mark’s raised $1.5 million. His 17,000 supporters are far, far more than anyone else in the race. 85 percent of these donations are $100 or less reflecting broad, grassroots support. Every quarter we continue the momentum with more money than the previous," said Neumann campaign manager Chip Englander.
Neumann and Thompson ended the year with roughly the same amount of cash on hand, but since then, self-funder Eric Hovde has entered the contest and put up $400,000 behind a television advertisement.
