Assemb. Grace Meng's (D) campaign announced today that she raised $300K "in the first 10 days of her run" (Katz/Gendar, "The Daily Politics," New York Daily News, 4/3).
Asemb. Rory Lancman (D) has over $200K CoH, according to his campaign spokesperson (Campbell, "Politicker," New York Observer, 4/2).
NYC Councilwoman Liz Crowley (D) announced that she has raised $100K since announcing for the race.
Crowley spokesperson Eric Yun: "Support for Elizabeth Crowley is growing rapidly because people believe we need an independent voice for Queens neighborhoods in Congress (Campbell, "Politicker," New York Observer, 4/2).
But Crowley's campaign said that $30K of that money was actually from "refunded donations" -- money that was refunded from her City Council campaign account to donors, who then re-donated to her cong. campaign (Bragg, CityandState.com, 4/2).

We Are Family

Lancman "has locked up" the Working Families Party line, "adding some cachet to his drive to define himself as the labor favorite."
Lancman, in a statement: "The Working Families Party stands for leveling the economic playing field, holding Wall Street accounatable and creating good jobs with reliable benefits, and today I could not be prouded that they are standing with me to support my candidacy for Congress" (Katz, "The Daily Politics," New York Daily News, 4/2).
Meanwhile, ex-NYC Mayor Ed Koch (D) endorsed Lancman on April 2.
Koch: "On the issue of supporting the state of Israel, while I am certain both Grace Meng and Elizabeth Crowley do support Israel, I have found Rory Lancman’s knowledge and insights to be superior on what has to be done on the part of the United States to provide our ally Israel with security against its many enemies in the Mideast region and protect it from the existential nuclear threats of Iran. I believe Rory Lancman will be a great asset to the New York delegation and will serve the people of the 6th C.D. in the best possible manner."
Lancman: “It’s a true honor to accept the endorsement of Mayor Ed Koch, someone who has been a tireless advocate for Israel and Jewish communities here in New York. Ed Koch understands the special relationship between the United States and Israel – a relationship I will strive to build upon if elected to Congress” (Katz, "The Daily Politics," New York Daily News, 4/2).
